Understanding Medicare and Medicare Supplemental Insurance

When you turn 65 years old, or when you retire after age 65, you are eligible to enroll in our national Medicare program.

When enrolling in the Medicare program, you are also entitled to enroll in a private plan to mitigate coverage gaps and deductibles. These plans are available through various insurance companies and can be selected based on the one that is best suited for your lifestyle. A Brooks, Todd & McNeil agent can help identify which plan is the best fit for you.

Such plans usually include some form of Medicare Risk Adjustment Factor measurement scores, which are divided into two categories: Medicare Supplement plans and Medicare Advantage plans.

The correct choice of a Medicare plan is dependent on your personal circumstances. This may include current medical conditions, medical history, financial positions and physician relationships.

During open enrollment, which runs from October 15th, 2020 to December 7th, 2020, and is effective the 1st of January each year, you can chose the plan that best fits your needs and is available within your region. A Brooks, Todd & McNeil agent can assist you with the process.

“Just a quick note to tell you how much I appreciate the all the help that Amy Manchester-Woodilla has given me over the past several months. I have been in the process of making changes to my mothers homeowner’s policy. Since my mother recently passed away, now I am making additional changes. Amy has been extremely responsive and very timely in her attention to this matter. I wish everyone did their job as well as Amy. She is a real gem. ” — Joan J. Rees
