Brooks, Todd & McNeil began in 1839 with George Wadhams being the first insurance agent to represent the Aetna Insurance Company in Torrington, Connecticut selling strictly fire insurance. In 1861 his nephews Issac and John, opened a general store in Goshen where they sold general supplies, Borden cheese, steam ship tickets, fire and life insurance.
Over the years, Brooks, Todd & McNeil has expanded our offerings to provide greater protection and peace of mind to the people of our community. In order to do that, we have remained dedicated to building long-lasting relationships with some of this area’s – and the nation’s top insurance carriers.
It is this steadfast commitment that recently earned Brooks, Todd & McNeil recongnition by The Hartford for celebrating our 150+ year (155 years to be exact!) partnership. Shortly after, we were also recognized by the Travelers Insurance Agency for our 150+ year partnership – a remarkable milestone only achieved by a couple other agencies!
Today, the Brooks, Todd & McNeil agency services all of Connecticut (and 27 other states), offering products such as business and personal insurance, life and health insurance, Medicare and other products to help protect our client’s financial futures. Our agency is fueled by a long-standing sense of community and we pride ourselves in the strong relationships we have with area businesses and non-profits in additon to our carriers. A business cannot survive for as long as we have without perseverance, knowledge and an unrivaled determination to succeed.
